What was your inspiration for the room
I like nautical decorations, so I chose to go that route when decorating the nursery Dylan. When it came time to update his room and get rid of his crib, I decided to keep the theme. I found the life jacket that hangs above his bed and fell in love with it. It has been my inspiration for the design of the rest of the room.
What best describes your decorating style?
I like clean, neat styles. I'm usually attracted rooms and decorations, with some modern touches thrown.
Please share with us your choice of paint colors, furniture, art, craft tips, etc.
The bed, dresser and mirror were all found large price Ikea. The paint is Behr. The bins of toys and life jacket that hangs above the bed were found to HomeGoods. The personalized growth chart was commissioned by the shop of a local child. Comforter and bedding were found on clearance at Bed Bath and Beyond. And small pillow and blanket at the foot of the bed were part of a whole sold at Babies R Us and directed by Nautica.
What is your favorite item (s) in the room?
library is my favorite section. I saw something similar on the project Nursery and fell in love with it. I tell my husband exactly what I wanted and measures, and built from scratch. It is the perfect library for my son grow up with, and holds a ton of books.
Is there anything else you want to PN readers to know?
I'm always attracted to children's rooms that are not too busy or too baby-ish. I love that my son will not develop the design in his room and be happy with it for many years.
