Moving your child from a bed to a big girl or big boy bed is both exciting and scary. Many thoughts are running in your head. Will he stay in bed? Will she fall out of bed? Does he have trouble in the middle of the night? These are questions that every parent as they prepare for the big transition.
Tanin's parents had the same concerns, but he was two and they wanted to make the big move. They wanted great Tanin boy room to reflect his courageous personality and being a space he could become.
We have carefully selected bright colors and fun patterns for Tannin. We wanted a palette that would grow with him, so we rooted space with the navy. The positioning of the bed Tanin was also very important. We pushed into the corner for a little extra protection from falling out of bed, and it also has a bed rail (not shown). His mother can rest a bit more peacefully at night knowing that it is safe!
We decided to paint the heartbeat pattern on the wall to the right of the bed This can be a difficult wall to decorate because of curious little hands, so we made interesting with the detail of the painting instead.
This room would be complete without a library. Since Tanin is still only two, he likes to read books with his mom and dad before bedtime. We decided to make the long edges of books to fill the great wall, and found a large chair that is perfect for snuggling and story time.
We chose a collection of art prints that reflect the personality of Tannin. We also added some 3D elements like the arrow to pop without consolidation of the wall and give it a little more interest.
The color of inspiration for the room came from an Abacus's mother Tanin already. She said. "These are perfect colors for Tanin they really match his personality" We have also brought in the colors of the chart in the carpet deconstructed chevron
so far, so good for little tannin. It adjusts quite well to his new big boy room, and we hope that its room design helped a bit with the transition! Look out for our post next month when we will unveil its new big brother chamber Kelton.
